VISA INFORMATION
I. Types of the visa, Under the new rules of registration and issuance of visas, visa categories, depending on the purpose of stay of foreigners, have increased and are 19 categories, including:
- Diplomatic
- Service
- Investors
- Business
- Labor
- Tourism, including Group
- Educational and academic
- Private
- Free Economic Zone
- Permanent residence
- Crew of aircraft
- Media
- Citizen family member (Nina)
- Athletes and creative teams
- Missionary
- Humanitarian
- Commercial
Diplomatic visa is denoted by the letter (D) and issued:
- Heads of governments of foreign countries
- Members of foreign official delegations
- Diplomatic agents of diplomatic missions and consular officers of consular offices
- Foreign Service Officer, foreign diplomatic and consular couriers
- Employees of international organizations, for which the Republic of Tajikistan is recognized diplomatic status
- inspectors carrying out inspections on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with international treaties to which the Republic of Tajikistan
- Family members of these individuals with diplomatic passports
If a foreign national with a diplomatic passport, the Republic of Tajikistan is not recognized diplomatic status (in the case of private travel, etc.), then he can be extradited to another category of visa, the relevant purpose of the trip.
Service visa denoted by the letter (X) is issued:
- Members of foreign official delegations
- Administrative clerks and staff of diplomatic missions
- Consular employees and members staff the consular institutions of foreign states
- Employees of international organizations in Tajikistan
- People who bring pouch, in the absence of diplomatic passports
- Honorary consuls of the Republic of Tajikistan abroad
- Foreign nationals to the Republic of Tajikistan on official business on behalf of ministries and agencies of foreign states, regardless of category requirements of passports
- Family members of these persons
Investor is a new visa category that has not previously issued. Represented by a letter (C) and is issued:
- Heads of world-famous foreign companies, guides, and also located in the Republic of Tajikistan with the business objectives that actually participate in the investment economy of Tajikistan
- Top executives of large foreign firms and companies operating in the Tajik market or having real plans for the development of business projects
- Family members of these persons
Business visa is denoted by the letter (K) and is issued:
- Foreign citizens traveling to or residing in the Republic of Tajikistan for business purposes (participation in business negotiations, meetings, symposiums, forums, conferences, tenders, contracts, joint ventures, the study of the Tajik market, participate in auctions, exhibitions and trade fairs, provision of advisory and auditing services, etc.)
An employment visa is denoted by the letter (M) and is given:
- Foreign nationals to the Republic of Tajikistan for work, including, in accordance with international treaties and agreements
- Family members of these persons
Tourist visa, including a group represented by the letter (T), and issued:
- Foreign national entering the Republic of Tajikistan as a tourist or a group of foreign nationals arriving in the Republic of Tajikistan for tourism organized tourist groups (at least 5 people, but not more than 50).
It should be remembered that the prerequisites for a group tourist visa are: the simultaneous arrival of all group members at the border entry and exit to / from the Republic of Tajikistan, stay in any point, and movement on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan is only part of a group;
Following categories of visas are learning academic and training. These visa categories are different from each other so that the academic curriculum is issued to those aliens who have already arrived and are trained in the universities of Tajikistan, and another "training" those who intend to enter or pass a short-term practice or training.
In this regard, according to the rules, learning academic visa denoted by the letter (O-1) and is issued:
- Foreign nationals studying in educational institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan
- Graduate students and doctoral candidates
- Members of their families
Study visa is denoted by the letter (O-2) and is issued to foreign citizens traveling to or residing in the Republic of Tajikistan:
- Training at a training practice, training
- For admission to educational institutions
- Temporary language course
- Members of their families
Private visa is denoted by letters (XC) and issued to foreign nationals to the Republic of Tajikistan:
- A visit to relatives and friends
- At rest, treatment or other purposes of a private nature
A new category of visas under the Rules is a visa - "Free Economic Zone". The introduction of this category is associated with the opening of the territory of Tajikistan FEZ Panj "and" Суѓд. This category of visa is denoted by letters (MOИ) and is issued:
- Foreign nationals, investors for the implementation of employment and entrepreneurial activities in the territory of free economic zones
Driver's visa, denoted by the letter (H), and issued to foreign nationals:
- Drivers of vehicles engaged in transporting cargo and passengers in international traffic
Visa for the crew of aircraft, designated by a letter (Л) and is issued to foreign nationals:
- Pilots, navigators, engineers, flight attendants and other crew members of aircraft
Another category of visas, a visa is "media", denoted by the letter (Ж) and is issued to foreign nationals:
- Reporters, cameramen
- Journalists and other staff members of foreign media
- Members of their families
For foreign nationals visiting or residing in the Republic of Tajikistan in international competitions, training, cultural events and rehearsals as well as their family members may be granted a visa "for athletes and creative teams", denoted by letters (BX).
For foreign citizens - employees of religious organizations engaged in or intending to carry out its activities in the Republic of Tajikistan issued missionary visa, denoted by letters (MД).
Foreign nationals resident in the Republic of Tajikistan for the delivery or support of humanitarian relief, according to the rules issued humanitarian visa, which is denoted by the letter (Б).
Foreign citizens are engaged in commercial activity is issued Business Visa, denoted by letters (TИ).
You must know that according to the new Regulation under the "family" means:
spouse (s),
children,
foreignadoptees \ adoptions citizen.
It should be noted that with respect to the issuance of visas, a category of visa is the appropriate category issued to family members of a foreign citizen, subject to co-host without the right to occupational activities, unless otherwise provided by regulations or international treaties recognized by Tajikistan. If during your stay in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, some of the family members of a foreign person expresses the desire to do work or any other activity, his (her) visa to be replaced in accordance with the future type of activity.
II. The term of visas
The consular section of the Embassy issued all types of visas to foreign nationals with single entry, regardless of nationality for following durations:
a) up to one week
b) up to two weeks
c) un to one month
d) up to 45 days
e) up to two month
f) up to three month
These visas then can be extended in the Consular Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
III. The term of consideration of applications
for visas of the Republic of Tajikistan:
- applications for visas for up to 45 days are considered within 3 working days with the provision of documents according to established form of the Consular Section of Embassy.
- applications for visas for more than 45 days are considered within 5 working days with provision of documents according to established form of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
- applications foreign nationals to obtain permission to enter the Republic of Tajikistan on an individual basis (without invitation) considered within 14 working days in fact of providing the necessary information on the purpose of entry, duration and location of stay, planned to visit.
Note: it’s required to fill up application form with photograph and submission of photocopy of passport.
IV. The list of countries where possible to get a Tajik visa
Thus the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, its representatives abroad and consular agencies in foreign states with which Tajikistan has appropriate agreements, are issuing visas for entrance into Tajikistan to foreign citizens.
The Republic of Tajikistan has its diplomatic representatives in following states where are issued a Tajik visas: Austria, Afghanistan, Belgium, Federal Republic of Germany, IRAN, USA, Turkey, India, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, People’s Republic of China, Arab Republic of Egypt and Consulate in UAE (Dubai)
The visas are procured also at the consular bureau in the airport “Dushanbe” only to people coming from countries where there are no permanent representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The period of procuring of visa for the persons willing to visit Tajikistan by invitations of legal entities or permanent representatives of foreign states, international agencies which are accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, and private persons takes min.3 to 7 working days, not counting the day of submission of documents.
Foreign citizens are allowed to transit the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan to the destination country by air, railway, river or other transport provided they have available documents valid for entrance to the state neighboring with the republic of Tajikistan.
Citizens coming to the Republic of Tajikistan for the time being are living on Tajikistan’s territory with international passports. The passports are being submitted for registration after arrival to the destination point during 3 days and nights excluding holiday and days off
Heads of parliamentary and governmental delegations, support staff of these delegations, members of their families, persons arriving to Tajikistan with UN passports and foreign citizens under 16 years and who came to Tajikistan for holidays and days off or for a period of up to three days in business days are excused from temporary registration.
State duties and consular fees :
According to Section 6 the rates of duties and payments for performance of legal acts and rights and permissions for use of natural and other resources, dated on November 2, 2007, No.546 approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan covers the following rates for consular fees:
- The rate for confirmation of invitations for foreign citizens and absent nationality persons is $ 5 US
- The rate for immediate consideration and processing of applications for invitation (visa support) is increased to 100%
- For processing and issuance of visas:
а) For issuance of Tajik entry/exit and exit/entry visas for foreign citizens and absent nationality persons:
For the period of 3 days 15 $ US
For the period of 7 days 30 $ US
For the period of 14 days 40 $ US
For the period of one month 50 $ US
For the period of 45 days 60 $ US
For the period of two months 65 $ US

Notes: The visas for the period of one to three years are issued to foreign citizens after submission of the documents confirming investment activity of foreign citizens at the territory of Tajikistan and their participation in joint ventures and projects, availability of long term cooperation agreements signed with business entities of Tajikistan.
a) For issuance of tourist visas:
1. For the period of one month or 45 days 25 $ US
2. For issuance of group (tourist) visa 12,5 $ US
Notes: Consular fees and state duties are not subject of return.
In accordance to Annex 6 of the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated on November 2, 2007, No. 546 the following are the Consular fees for legalization:
- Legal persons of foreign countries - 20 US $;
- Legal persons of Tajikistan - 10 US $;
- Foreign citizens - 10 US $;
- Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan - 5 US $;
Transit visa:
24 hours - 10 USD$
48 hours – 15 USD$
72 hours – 20 USD$

The decision of Government of the Republic of Tajikistan № 134 of April 3, 2006 «The measures on procuring a simplified order of processing and issuing visas of the Republic of Tajikistan to citizens of some foreign countries»,
The Government of Republic of Tajikistan has approved a list of foreign countries (68 countries) the citizens of which have a right to get diplomatic, service, business and tourist visas in the simplified order up to 45 days at entrance on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan (in Dushanbe Airport).
This document is adopted for the purpose of creating favorable conditions to widen trade, economic and cultural relations with foreign countries, attracting foreign investments and development of foreign tourism in Tajikistan. This list includes the citizens of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Algeria, Egypt, Argentina, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, Hungary, Vietnam, Brunei-Darussalam, Israel, Greece, China, India, Ireland, Iran, Pakistan, Iceland, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Cyprus, Bahrain, Belgium, Jordan, Denmark, Spain, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Kuwait, Latvia, Libya, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Korea, Indonesia, Croatia, Rumania, Singapore, Syria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Great Britain, USA, Thailand, Turkey, Tunis, Brazil, Germany, Philippines, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia, Republic of South Africa and Japan. The following documents should be submitted
in order to obtain visa:
1. Two fully completed visa application forms,Please, note that the full answers to all question on the visa application will be reflected in the issued visa.
2. One passport size photos.
3. Valid passport. Passport must be valid for at least 2 months from the date of departure.
4. Copy of invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan
5. Cover letter of request from your organization or agency. Embassy reserves the right to request for additional documents.
6. We accept only cash for visa processing. Please, note that we do not accept any kind of checks.
Please note that issued visas are not refundable.
