TAJIKISTAN STUDENT’S ASSOCIATION
(TSA India)
OBJECTIVES
Tajikistan Students’ Association (TSA India) as non-government student organization was found by the initiatives of Honourable Mr. S. Nasriddinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in India, and Tajik students in India – Umedjon Qudratzoda (MA Politics (International Relations), JNU) and Sangin Komilzoda (MA Social Work, DU) in late September and was officially registered in Embassy of Tajikistan in New Delhi on December 10, 2007. The main idea was to bring all Tajik students together.  Organization’s activities are based on the following principles:

  • Promote and contribute to the welfare of the Tajik students in India;
  • Identify, respond to the needs and concerns of Tajik students in India in all fields, including academic and social;
  • Develop healthy and cordial relations among Tajik students as well as with other student unions and associations in India;
  • Aid the Tajik students who want study in Indian institutions\universities and provide education-academic consultations;

All Tajik students studying in Indian Educational Institutions and bonafide of concerned Institutions/Universities for more than one academic year are qualified to be TSA members. TSA will hold a general body meeting quarterly and put on agenda all issues that pertain to everyday problems and challenges faced by Tajik students in Indian institutions. TSA will also collaborate with Embassy of Tajikistan in New Delhi for organizing seminars, conferences, celebration of national holidays and events. Structurally, TSA consists of the President, (Umedjon Qudratzoda), General Secretary (Sangin Kamolzoda), Secretary (Khurshed Nazarzoda) and Cultural Event Officer (Parvina Sharifzoda).

November 6, 2007
In collaboration with Foreign Students’ Association of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, President Umedjon Qudratzoda and General Secretary Sangin Kamolzoda, on behalf of the TSA delivered a presentation entitled “Tajikistan Today”. There was a good turnover of audience who took keen interest in learning about Tajikistan’s development in its 16 years of Independence. Interesting perspectives on Tajikistan’s culture, economy, government, education, etc. were discussed and answered in the two hours question answer round.
December 20, 2007
Tajikistan Students asociation members studying in different Colleges/Universities under the scheme of India-Tajikistan Cultural Exchange Program of Indian Council for Cultural Relations were very active in International Student Festival organized and held in ICCR. Parvina Sharifzoda presenting Cultural Officer in such a event participated as a leader of her dance team with other students among whom were Syhaylo, Madina, Sanam, Umedjon and Sangin presented Tajikistan folk group dance from southern region. In International Student Festival participated ICCR-funded international students from 15 Friendly countries.
Since it ICCR announced about Festival, Ms.Parvina initiated among other country groups to begin the rehearsing and noticed leading ability in dance art. During a week all participants coming up from different regions of Delhi to be in the group, dance,communicate and be one team. 

   



January 8 – 12, 2008
Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts during January 8-12 organized International Seminar & exhibitition on Cities, roads and caravan sarais: an emblem of linkages through the ages (India, West and Central Asia). During the seminar and cultural program Tajik students volunteered in the course and participated in cultural program, especially the contribution of  Parvina Sharifzoda and Khurshed Nazarzoda in playing table and singing Tajik as well as Hindi classic compositions.

January 26, 2008
Together with all Tajik students in New Delhi TSA participated in World Food Festival organized in Jawaharlal Nehru University by Foreign Students Association. During festival by students were prepared traditional Tajikistani foods as Qurutob, Oshi tuppa, Fateer, Chakka, Salad, Orzuq, Chagaldak and by the assistance of Embassy of Tajikistan cook Mr. Rajabali Isoev was prepared Osh. by collected woods from JNU forests and followed by procession.

8 Marth, 2008.
On the eve of International Women Day, TSA members participated in Delhi University, International Student Hostel Annual Hostel Night and were recommending best among others.

20 March, 2008
Together with Embassy of Tajikistan, Tajik Students participated and assisted in Navrooz reception held in Embassy of Tajikistan. Generally this reception was organised by Tajik Students itself. Interestingly this was the first attempt in India where Tajik Students in New Delhi could celebrate Navrooz with Embassy together and even Khurshed with Hasan, Uzbekistan Tajik, playing and singing Shashmaqom and dressed the jashni navrooz where friendly country diplomats was invited and was really enjoying while amazed by Tajik students unity and cultural performance presented by Tajik students itself.
23 March, 2008
Special lunch arranged in Embassy of Tajikistan. Special Oshi palov cooked by Mr. Rajabali Isoev and collective gathering where was held General Body Meeting. After lunch, H.E. Mr. S. Nasriddinov, Ambassador announced on arranged special space for Tajik Students activity and opening Tajikistan-India students friendship society within TSA in Embassy of Tajikistan.
16 April
Center for Central Asian Studies of School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University with collaboration of students organized a wide range seminar on “Tajikistan Today”. Different political and cultural topics were discussed where Professor Muzaffar Olimov, Visiting Professor currently affiliated in JNU SIS Center for Central Asian Studies, presented paper on the development perspectives in Tajikistan and Umedjon Qudratzoda had presentation. Dr. (Ms) Munzifa Babajanova, Counsellor of the Embassy of Tajikistan, presented as honor guest.
