“The Tajiks in the Mirror of History”


Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan organized a programme on Friday, October 9, 2009 to release book (Hindi Edition) “The Tajiks in the Mirror of History” by H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Discussion on Tourism Potential of Tajikistan at the Vasant Vihar Club, 88, Paschimi Marg, New Delhi 110 057. H.E. Mr. Saidbeg Saidov Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan welcomed all the participants and distinguished guests to this event. Mr. K.Santhanam, President, ICAF was the Chairman of this event. He shared his valuable ideas and experiences while focusing on the relations between Tajikistan and India. The Chief Guest of this event was Mr. Gurjit Singh, Joint Secretary (EURASIA), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He mentioned about the bilateral relations between the two countries. He stressed on the fact that to improve the relations, both the countries should focus on the areas of education, culture, infrastructure and last to increase economic ties. Ms. Mehruniso Solieva from the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan shared her knowledge and ideas about the tourism opportunities in Tajikistan. She gave the information about the various tourists’ destinations in Tajikistan. Many tour operators who were present in the event showed their interests in promoting Tajikistan as a tourist destination. Brig.Devinder Singh, Head, Economic Cell, ICAF, mentioned about Indian Experiences in Tajikistan Mr. L.K.Malhotra, Chairman, CHL, New Delhi, Former President, PHDCCI, shared his experiences and knowledge about India – Tajikistan Economic Relations. Lastly, H.E. Mr. Saidbeg Saidov Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan gave the concluding remarks and thanked to all the distinguished guests and participants in making this event a grand success.
